Automotive design
Most of EMPower's products include car installation and this involves deep knowledge of board systems and individual and integration constraints.
To be noted:
- Expertise in selecting certified automotive components
- Experience in defining HW/SW solutions compatible with power supply constraints (implementation of: low power consumption, controlled power-off, power-on scalar)
- Experience in developing automotive communication lines (CAN bus), from HW network configuration to controllers, from protocols to analysis and simulation tools (CANalyzer)
- Competence in designing robust and reliable products (protection, self-diagnosis and recovery, redundancy on basic functions etc.)
- Competence in the design of robust and light mechanics and any heat sinkers
- Experience in project validation and product testing
Electronic power design
The design of power solutions for hybrid F1 Cars has led to improve on previous competencies.
To be noted:
- Competence in the selection and application of power modules (MOSFET technology, such as thin film capacitors)
- Experience in design inverters and control -2 and/or 3 levels- for high speed electric motors
- Competence in the control of brushless and step-by-step motors for applications such as electric pumps and linear actuators
